We know from the Gospels that when he was on earth, Jesus treated the women around Him with respect and dignity. He loved and respected His mother. He healed those who suffered illnesses, he forgave those who sinned. He gave the Samaritan woman Living Water. He died for us on the cross, so we may have eternal life in heaven with God. He pours His Holy Spirit on us. Jesus loves us!
As disciples of Christ, we all need to grow in our walk in and relationship with Jesus. Following the examples of the early church, we study His Word together, forge nurturing friendships and fellowship with one another. This is why we have a Women's Ministry.
The women in our church have very important roles in the Kingdom of God. One of the things we do to encourage one another is get together in small groups to study His Word, to have fellowship and pray together. We also plan to have a Spring Retreat for the women.
Often times we think that we know everything about our best friend, and then we discover that that's not the case. It’s the same with Jesus. We may think we know everything about Him, but do we? I know Jesus walked on water, but why did he do that? Did Jesus get angry? Why? Most importantly, how is Jesus relevant in my life? What better way to get to know Jesus than to study the Gospel?
Let’s take this journey together. We will explore the Gospel of John inductively, where we will make observation from the text. In trying to understand the text we will answer three questions: What does it say? What does it mean? What does it mean for my life? To make the most of the discussion session, reading the text to be studied before the weekly meeting is very important.
